The EWC Library and Library System

Enterprise-Wide Computing, LLC (EWC) has developed an extensive book-oriented library system for its own use in which others may be interested.  The system is still under development but has some powerful features:

• MARC record based.
• Automatic retrieval of existing MARC records from the Library of Congress (LOC) or other facilities supporting Z39.50 servers.
• Cataloguing using the LOC classification system.
• The facility for allowing a cataloguer to easily build a MARC record for entries where an existing MARC record cannot be found.
• An extensive set of utilities to aid in cataloguing and in the maintenance of records dealing with the users of the library.
• Supported by a powerful database system (MySQL).
• An attractive on-line public access system (OPAC) for finding library resources.
• Multi-user.
• A web-based user interface.
• And other powerful features.
